Q: Why are keyboard trays, mouse trays, and adjustable
keyboard arms sold separately?
|
|
|
A:
When selecting the keyboard system that is right for you a combination of
issues must be considered:
-
What is the configuration of your workstation?
-
What kind of keyboard are you currently using?
-
How do you use your mouse?
With the answers to these questions, you may then select
the * Keyboard
System that will best suit your needs. You will want to find a Keyboard
Arm that will fit in the depth
of your workstation. You may choose form a variety of profile arms with
ball bearings or on a Teflon glide track. Next, you will need select
a Keyboard
Tray (also known as Keyboard Platforms). You may be able
to use a longer platform that allows for the keyboard and mouse to be on
one level, or you may need a smaller keyboard platform with an attached
adjustable swivel Mouse
Tray to the left or right hand side. If you are using an ergonomic
keyboard like the Microsoft Natural ™ Keyboard you will want a keyboard

|
Q: How do I select an ergonomic mouse tray for the platform I already
have? |
A: Keeping your mouse tray as close
to your body as possible is essential in preventing CTS (Carpal Tunnel
Syndrome). The mouse caddy and mouse bridge are great options if you do
not need to use the number key pad. For tight spaces, select an adjustable
mouse tray that swivels out of the way for storage when not in use. For
intensive use (24/7 use), a stronger, more stable mouse tray is always
a must. |
|
Q: How do I select an adjustable keyboard arm? |
A: If you are tall or have long legs
it may be necessary to use a low profile keyboard arm, such as our AM-08, AM-17 or Am-18.
These keyboard arms work with all of our keyboard trays and platforms.
If you are on a budget and AM-14 or AM-15 provide
you all the adjustment at a very affordable price. Also, read our Keyboard Arm Comparison for more information. |
|
Q: Do all keyboard trays fit on all the keyboard arms ? |
A: Yes. All ErgoStoreOnline keyboard
trays will attach to all ErgoStoreOnline keyboard arms; and all
mouse trays (with the exception of the SLD-275) will work on all platforms!
This allows for the most customizable keyboard systems available anywhere. |
|
Q: What is the difference between a keyboard system and a keyboard
drawer? |
A: The keyboard system has an arm
and a platform which allows for height adjustment, tilt and swivel. A keyboard
drawer is mounted on glides and just slides in and out with no other available
adjustments. We carry both desktop and under desk keyboard drawers. |
|
Q: Can you use a keyboard drawer for a keyboard and a mouse surface? |
A: Yes, but it is very important
that you select a keyboard drawer that is long enough to accommodate both
your keyboard and your mouse. |
|
Q: How do I install a keyboard system to a desk with an overhang on the
front edge? |
A: Please call our customer service
line (1-877-971-0151) and someone will be able to inform you of
the appropriate spacers needed for proper installation. |
